With A caddy on holiday.
Set off early for a holiday day. Walk (5 mins) catch ferry (10 mins) (forgot money so A had to pay) walk to post office for score card. 1 pound a bargain, I put 3 in the box (its all I had). Then walk to start of course up a bit of a hill avoiding bin lorry. (about 30 mins).

| The start. No clubhouse here. |
Because I knew there was a longish walk to the start I went in trainers. This turned out to be a bad idea. The golf course is described as a natural golf course. Golf as it used to be. There were no fairways and no rough it was just what the sheep could eat! The grass was not long and in most cases you had a nice shot. The grass was wet as there was a bit of scotch mist, my trainers were not waterproof and soon I had wet, sore feet. I did not let this spoil the fun although the walk back to the ferry seemed longer than the way there.
The first tee is just inside the gate to the right. The flag was not visible from the hole. The rule here is the white tee marker if always on your right as you face the hole. Fist hole is along the fence past the start, over the ditch and then over a hill. I was cautious and used a 7i and so several shots to get near to the green.
The second hole is in the same direction to the right of a hillock. My tee shot with a 3W was ok then my second shot went somewhere right of the green and unbelievably was lost. (There really was no where to lose a ball). I took a penalty grr.
The 3rd hole was a par 3 onto a hill I took the par 4 option but got on the elevated green in 2 so was pleased. The greens were poor, small and rough but great fun. (I did not allow more than a 2 put on my round). This was by far the best green on top of the hill.

The 4th hole was back down the coast towards the start. From the top of a hill. I did a duff off the tee. Then it was over a hillock to the hole. The coast was wonderful!

My memory is a bit vague here as from the photo the 5th is also from a hill.
The 6th is the last along the shoreline (short but across some rough areas).

The 7th heads towards the farmhouse up a hill and over a few minor hillocks.

The 8th tee is over a fence by style (ok with golf carry bag) the hole is over a hill as usual.
 |
| Tip: send caddy to find hole. |
 |
| This may take some time. |
The 9th is back over the 8th green (from a hill).

The 10th stumped us for a while. To find the tee carry on walking over the 9th green. The hole can be found by is literally heading across a field (full of sheep) towards a rocky outcrop. Trust the position of the tee and off you go. The hole is inside the circle of rocks (not visible until you get there). I sent caddy A off looking but he never found it. It was a good 15 minutes later when we both arrived on the 10th green.

| The 10th green (I hope I cant remember it) |
The 11th is up a hill and down into a dipped green. Go right like I did and see a great little beach. Well worth a trip back just to see beach.
 |
| As usual send caddy to find hole. |
 |
| Went right and almost ended up on beach. |
 |
| Almost a bunker shot. (Taken by Caddy) |
The 12th is across hills with some messy rough on the right (I should know!).

I have no memory of the 13 or 14th (My feet were getting sore at this point).
 |
| I think this is 13th flag? |
The 15th aims across some rough towards the elevated flag in the distance. I took the simple path making a dog leg then messed up the simple shots to the flag. You have to cross at least 1 style here.
The 16th is back across the path to the 14th from an elevated tee and over the style again. You cannot see the sunken flag until you get there. (Spot the theme here.. you never see that flag until you get there!)

The 17th is heading towards the start again over a rough area that is similar to a very large bunker/ditch. The hole is up the hill to the left.
The 18th is a par 3 but again the flag is hidden over the brow of the hill.

There a a few footpaths crossing the course so don't be surprised to find people visiting the islands beaches. Who can blame them its great.
In the end it was one of my worst scores for a long time but still great fun. It claims to be a par 66 but I would like to see that done with the greens I saw.
The walk back to the ferry was a bit slower to help the sore feet. Should have taken golf shoes and swapped to play.
