Tue 11 Dec 2012 Lesson

I have not spent much time practicing since last lesson... which is not a great admission.

Spent some time trying to hit off a downslope using a 7i and then a 6i with a view to getting over the lake at the 18th at Dummer. 6i worked best I think.

This was not entirely successful but at least it gave me an idea what to try. The practice slope was more severe than the real thing so lets see if it has helped next time.

As usual I need to take away in a more straight line (rather than out) and do a nice follow through.

Also hit a few 3woods off the tee and attempted off the grass with some limited success.

Finally I risked my driver for the last 5 mins and had no back pain after so thats good!

This is what my teacher said:

set up:
Clubface sat square. You have a slight tendency to shut the face.
Make sure your feet are correct. (right foot at right angles and left may be turned out a bit).

down hill lies:
Ball always sits higher up the hill.
Weight sits lower down the hill.
Rotate body but dont try to shift weight.

It was a good job I copied this into the blog as I had already forgotten to check my feet!
