We had to ring the course en-route as it was snowing a blizzard. They were open.
M there early we arrived a bit late. Never mind had time to hit a quids worth of warmup balls before tee off slightly early for 12:00 tee time. Also it was a bargin at 15 quid after 12.
Weather varied between sleet and snow showers but was not much of a problem. Yellow ball was useful as there were patches of snow on fairways.
We set off following no-one but were soon pressured by a 3 ball. The never quite caught up enough to be called through but we felt that we had no time to take it easy. This was proven as we finished in 3 and half hours (a world record for us!). With hindsight we should perhaps have waited and let them go early in the round. You live and learn!
Early on in the round when the weather seemed bad I had problems remembering my umbrella my gloves and the rest. Ended up running back for glove one time to get it and running back another time only to find I had put it away. Running and golf don't mix! My solution to the glove problem was to leave it in the handle of my trolley! I gave up on the brolly.
We both seemed to play OK. M won the first half and I won the second half. I think I won overall however it was close!
M hit a great shot on 2nd that almost hit green but rolled back into the ditch. I hit a great shot across the big bunker at the 14th almost hit the green and rolled back down to the edge of the bunker. We both managed to get round the lake on the 18th with no lost balls.
My highlight was no mulligans and no lost balls.. perhaps a first.
