With M, We met early enough to get a great clubhouse breakfast bap. This is one of my most favourite breakfasts anywhere! Then we just had time to get some value out of our privilege cards with a few holes on the par 3. Neither of us played particularly well with only an odd par and at least 1 5 each. No wonder we struggle to get a good score on a proper golf course. Still great fun and we drew.
On to the 18 hole now for just after 12. We paid for ourselves, For me it was 25 quid minus 5 for a privilege card. There was no one in front and no one behind. We both got off to a good start with a par each. Its easy golf!? Then onto the second I wet right and M did an amazing drive to the 150 to go line. In the end he got a 5 and I got 9. On the 3rd M got another par and then repeated this on the 4th. I was thinking I should give up and M was talking about turning pro. It was on the 5th where we realised we were catching up the couple in front. Normal service was resumed as I managed an ok 7 while M did a 10+. Just to prove that he was still on good form he got another par on the 6th. Despite this I was playing ok and managed to pull back a few. M was 2 up at the end of the first 9. By this time the couple of golfers in front had either been called through or given up, we never saw them again. Unfortunately we were behind a slow 4 ball and the pace slowed down a lot. Not too good for either of our games.
M was getting great distance out of his 3W (not always on the correct fairway) and with 4 to go he was 4 up. Luckily for me I managed to keep my score under control and in the end it was a draw. Mainly due to some bad luck for M.

I made 6 proper golf scores 1 par and 5 bogeys and I only messed up 3. The 2nd was a mess from the tee as I was in the trees. I played in a zigzag then went over the back. The 9th was just down to going over the green when it should have been an easy chip. The 10th was similar to the 9th with a duff on the fairway. I was pleased to get away with the usual problem holes (5,16,17). Although I did lose a ball on the 16th in the hedge left. Not really sure how to play this one yet.
Great fun as usual and I was very pleased not to lose!
