With R after work. 16 quid each a bargain. The weather was threatening rain but the worst we had was a shower or two. We set off after a lone golfer in a buggy but quickly caught up with a 3 ball who were going really slowly and let us through on the 3rd. We also caught another 3 ball on the 9th.
I set off very nicely with a par on the 1st and a bogey on the 2nd. My 4i was working well from the tee and my 4r was working well as chip and run from the fairway. On the first 9 it had gone very well with a world record score of 46 for me. Then I got a phone call about my poor old Dad. In the end I decided that he was ok and there was nothing that could be done in the short term so we continued after letting my Mum know what was happening.
On he back 9 I continued my good luck and only started to get into trouble on the last few holes when my 4i tee shots became less reliable. In the end I beat R by a few holes which makes a nice change.
My score is click here.
This must be a first as I did not mess up any holes (when taking my handicap into consideration). My putting went well (which helps a lot). I had a few lucky breaks: On the 15th I sliced right and missed the water and then holed from off the green. On the 16th I had a bounce out of the trees from the tee. On the 17th I had a poor tee shot and a duff on the fairway. On the 18th I had a very poor tee shot but scrambled well. I managed 10 proper golf scores 3 pars and 7 bogeys.
If only this were a common story!
